APTS of NY Organizational Chart
Get involved! With the exception of our Association Executive, APTS of NY is 100% volunteer run. Everyone from our Board Members to our Committee Chairs and Members volunteer their time to help run our organization. Everything from the education calendar, networking events, legislative updates, emails, social media posts and much more are brought to you because of the tireless work of our volunteers. Above is a breakdown of how APTS of NY is setup as an organization. Committee Descriptions & Chair Contact
Executive Committee:
The executive committee consists of the current President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, the immediate Past President, and our Association Executive. There is no committee chair or committee members. This committee meets as necessary to prepare issues to be presented to the full board and/or to make emergency decisions on behalf of the Board if it is not possible to assemble a quorum of the Board.
Membership Committee:
The membership committee is in charge of attracting new members to join our organization and retaining current members. This may look like a phone call, an email, or an in-person visit whatever fits into your schedule. It could also be a phone blitz or working with the communications committee to write a letter. We value all-time commitment; this is ideal for someone in a supplier role or eager to bring more members and events to your town/city!
Education & Events Committee:
The education committee is responsible for the planning and execution of our education, networking, and awards events we host throughout the year. They support actions like setting up speakers, asking for event sponsorships, recommending event pricing, and assisting our admin on the day of preparation. If you have a background in event planning or even if it's just something you've always wanted to do contact the Chair below. We are patient and grow volunteers!
Legislative Committee:
The Legislative Committee is responsible for almost everything advocacy. They are on weekly calls with lobbyists, coordinate calls or meetings with local and state representatives, collaborate with other similar organizations from around the state, review and revise proposed legislation, and much more! If you have an interest in politics, talking with legislatures, or are just interested in having your voice heard then contact the chair below.
Operations Committee:
The Operations Committee assists in maintaining the financial well-being of our organization. They prepare the annual budget, present the budget to the Board of Directors, review monthly P&L to ensure the annual budget is being maintained, set membership dues, assist other committees in pricing as needed, and monitor the financial health of our organization. If you have a background in accounting or bookkeeping, or even if you just love or want to work with spreadsheets then contact the chair below.
Communications Committee:
The Communications Committee is in charge of all the communications channels and marketing plans our organization has. They work very closely with all the other committees to help them reach their goals. They are in charge of the website, creating content for and posting to all social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn), assisting in email messaging, sending out text messages via texttosend, creating specialized marketing campaigns, and a lot more! If you've always wanted to try graphic design, learn canva, or have a background in marketing then contact the chair below.
Workforce Committee:
The Workforce Committee is one of our newest additions, we challenge ourselves to think outside the box and bring new blood into the industry. We strive to create and foster relationships within the communities to grow and attract talent to multifamily.
Fundraising Committee:
The Fundraising Committee is tasked with partnering with the events and membership committee to promote and attract sponsors to our signature events. They will also be charged with supporting the legislative committee in any fundraising needs they require.
Nominations & Elections Committee:
The Nominations & Elections Committee is responsible for securing individuals to fill vacant positions. They recruit individuals and present them to the Board for discussion prior to the Year End Awards Ceremony where Elections are held.
